python-openpyxl software package provides module to read/write OpenXML xlsx/xlsm files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-openpyxl
python-openpyxl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-openpyxl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-openpyxl *
You will get with python-openpyxl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
